I love my son. I really do.
If you find yourself reading this passage of text, you may find it interesting to know my current state of mind. I have just learned that the DVD player in my wife's new car has been rendered useless after the boy in this photo tried cramming two discs in the slot at the same time. I am reflecting on how much this will cost to have fixed. We will get it fixed. We must get it fixed. Our road trip to the Oregon coast planned for the near future will not be nearly as enjoyable without this device. Perhaps it will be cheaper to replace it altogether rather than try having it repaired. That is what we ended up doing with the Wii. Yes, the Wii. Same boy, same trick, different expensive electronic device. Then there's our iPhones: mine with the non-working volume buttons and my wife's with the cracked screen. Same boy, same tile floor, separate moments of anguish when the discoveries were made.
I love my son. I really do.

When abstract meets vintage. Right outside of the Denver Convention Center there is a hole in the roof that opens up to the sky. When I took this shot, I wasn't sure how interesting it would turn out. Once I aged it in post, I fell in love with it.
